Come and enjoy the annual Messiah Sing, a community tradition since 1984, hosted by the Congregational Church of Middlebury, UCC, beginning at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 22, 2024.
Singers, string players and all who enjoy music are warmly welcomed to sing or play along — or simply come to watch and listen — as we hear soloists from the local community, and together we all sing many favorite choruses from The Messiah by George Frederic Handel. Jeff Rehbach conducts.
Jessica Allen, Erin Grainger, Adam Hall, Joe McVeigh, Leila McVeigh, Sam Trudel and Wendy Taylor will sing a number of solo arias at this year’s sing, accompanied by chamber music players David Gusakov and Emily Sunderman, violins; Bill Pierson, viola; Dieuwke Davydov, cello. Jeff Buettner and Ronnie Romano play harpsichord and organ.
Music scores are provided (or bring your own) for singers; if you play a string instrument, flute, oboe, or bassoon, orchestra parts are also available at the reading.
The Messiah Sing is presented with support from the Congregational Church of Middlebury UCC, and the Middlebury Community Music Center. Donations welcome at the door to honor our soloists.
Donations welcome at the door (suggestions: $10/person; $20-25/family)
